A New Chapter Begins: Austin Prock and the Prock Family Join Tasca Racing

Tasca Racing is proud to usher in an exciting new chapter in its storied history with the addition of Austin Prock, the 2-time NHRA Nitro Funny Car World Champion. Beginning with the 2026 NHRA season, Prock will compete for Tasca Racing alongside his father and Crew Chief Jimmy Prock, his brother and Assistant Crew Chief Thomas Prock, and the championship-winning Prock family crew.

This milestone announcement was made live on stage at the 2026 Ford Racing Launch Event in Detroit, marking a defining moment for Tasca Racing, Ford Racing, and NHRA Nitro Funny Car competition.

A Strategic Transition for Long-Term Success

As part of this transition, Tasca Racing owner Bob Tasca III will step out of the driver’s seat of the Nitro Mustang Dark Horse Funny Car, passing the wheel to Prock as the organization sharpens its long-term vision for sustained championship success.

“I’m thrilled to welcome the Prock family under the Tasca Racing umbrella,” said Tasca. “I’ve had a front-row seat throughout my career watching the success Jimmy Prock has achieved, and he’s only continued to elevate his program with the addition of his sons. People will naturally ask how this all came together, and the answer is simple: the long-term vision of the Prock family and the Tasca family aligned perfectly. With the combined resources of Tasca Racing, Ford Racing, and the Prock family, we know this partnership will be a force to be reckoned with for many years to come.”

Fans will not have to wait long to see this new era take shape on track. Prock’s first race behind the wheel for Tasca Racing will come at the season-opening NHRA Gatornationals on March 6. He will debut in the PPG Nitro Mustang Dark Horse Funny Car, marking his first competitive laps under the Tasca Racing banner.

“I am honored to join Tasca Racing,” said Prock. “Our family shares the same passion and work ethic for success in motorsports. Like Tasca, our family’s legacy in the racing industry runs for many decades. We are ready for the challenge of building a championship-level team under the Tasca Racing banner. The work has already begun. 2026 is going to be exciting.”

United by Speed, Innovation, and Legacy

This partnership brings together two drivers who have helped redefine the limits of Nitro Funny Car performance. Tasca and Prock are the only two drivers in NHRA Funny Car history to have exceeded the 340 mph barrier, a milestone that reflects a shared commitment to innovation, engineering excellence, and pushing the sport forward.

With the addition of the Prock family leadership and crew, Tasca Racing strengthens its competitive foundation while honoring the legacy that has defined the organization for generations. The focus now turns to preparation, performance, and pursuit of championships as the team builds toward an exciting 2026 NHRA season.

More updates on the Tasca Racing Nitro Funny Car program will be shared in the months ahead. The journey continues, and the future has never looked faster.
